So if people of different race besides white may interfere with the story, why can't you change the story to that persons customs?
Also, why do you think their are more white authors in this area then others?
Why do you think publishers assume or maybe just would make more money on books with white characters instead of others?

well, IF the author is white, then they wouldnt necessarily be able to write about another race's 'customs'. And maybe, out of respect, they dont want to misrepresent it...i dont know, thats wat has stopped me from writing stories with those viewpoints.
ReplyDeleteOh and also we dont necessarily know the skin color of the main characters, it being a book and NOT a movie. so its entirely possible that the characters are part asian or mixed or irish even. i think they leave that up to us.
